What are Play Reading Pub Nights?
Playreading Pub Nights are - subject to the availability of a space - a monthly fixture.
They are pretty much what they 'say on the can'. We meet
at the Welsh Church Hall,
read a play, then head to the local pub to discuss what
we've just read, they're very relaxed affairs; coffees/teas,
biscuits and chat, and everyone gets a chance to
read."
For members not cast in the current show/shows, it can seem a very long time between productions.
Playreading Pub Nights are a chance to keep 'in the loop', catch up with friends and read a play.
For Prospective Members Playreading Pub Nights are good opportunities to get a feel for the group and meet some of the members without the
stress of an audition.
Any Member can host one of these evenings. If you're thinking of putting a play forward for performance, it's a great way to introduce it to the group.
Or: If you've written a play and want to hear it 'out loud', or simply have a favourite play you'd like to share, this is your chance.
As host you'll need to provide sufficient copies of the script and take charge of introducing the play and allocating roles throughout the evening.
If you're interested in hosting a Playreading Pub Night, or would like any further details, contact
Salley Rear.
Details of forthcoming Play Reading Pub Nights will be
shown in the diary.
