Lighting at the Woodhouse Players

Thanks for visiting. We're a small, friendly theatre group in Leytonstone. We put on new writing, classics, C20th, comedy and pantomime plus one-off workshops. If you're into designing or engineering either lighting or sound, you're just what we're looking for!

We can offer you a small theatre setup to play with. You will take control of lighting or creating sound for a full-length show, using either our medium sized rig or our impressive surround sound system.

Many of our members work in the day, so rehearsals and setups are done out of work hours, which means whether you're working or in full time ed., you could easily come and join us in the evenings. If you're training to do theatrical lighting or sound, or recently trained, we can give you something for your CV. With our informal atmosphere and open-minded attitude to innovation we could make it a fun and worthwhile experience for you.

You'd work with the director of the production to find creative ways of realising their vision for their play. In return, we offer you a lot of creative freedom, and some practical help. Not only that but we document all our productions with photos and a web page, so there'll be a record of your work.

We have four more productions coming up this year. To get involved with any of them, email the chairman .
